Fresh on the heels of his performance of the national anthem in Las Vegas at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Finals, Antonio Moraes
is headed to Los Angeles for the HMMA show on November 20th.
The HMMA (Hollywood Music and Media Awards) has nominated Moraes in the Independent Country Music Video Category for his ‘Let It
Ride’ video. This is his first nomination. When asked how he felt about getting his first nomination at the age of 19, Antonio shook his
head. “It sure is humbling. I’m just happy the video and song has gotten recognition. ‘Let it Ride’ will always be special to me. It has a
great message to everyone who has a dream. But it’s also very personal to me because it’s about how my dad has supported me in
chasing my dream.”
Antonio is the son of bull riding legend Adriano Moraes, so he has spent his life in and around the spotlight. Now that spotlight is aimed
directly at him. What will he do if he wins? “Well I guess I’ll go up and accept the award and say thank you.” Moraes chuckled and
continued, “I know it sounds cliché, but I’m just excited about being nominated. I just want to embrace the moment and let it all soak in.”
After Antonio’s dad retired from bull riding 11 years ago, the family moved back to Brazil. But by then, Antonio’s love for country music
and his desire to spend his life as a country music artist had taken hold. Antonio spent years working on his craft. He learned to play
guitar, piano and drums. He recorded several songs that were released in Brazil. And in 2018, Antonio moved to Nashville to launch his
career.
Antonio released his self-titled debut EP on September 5th. The first single from the EP, ‘Let It Ride’, is a song Antonio co-wrote as a
tribute to his father, who inspired his son to chase his dreams. “Watching my dad’s dedication to be the best has been my lifelong
inspiration and motivation. My dad’s not just my role model. He’s my hero.”You can find Antonio’s music on all streaming outlets and you
