FATHER’S AND SON’S CAREERS INTERSECT AT PBR FINALS

Twenty-five years ago, the newly formed PBR (Professional Bull Riders) bestowed its first world title to Adriano Moraes.  Now, 11 years after his retirement as a professional bull rider, the three-time world champion (1994,2001,2006), is coming back to celebrate the...

LET IT RIDE: A Father and Son Story

International artist Antonio Moraes will release his first Nashville produced single LET IT RIDE on August, 8th.   Inspired by Antonio’s true-life experiences*, the song relates his father’s encouragement to pursue his dream to be a singer. Antonio’s father...

ABOUT ME

Antonio Moraes grew up in Texas on his family’s ranch.  He enjoyed the country life with his father who was competing as a professional bull rider on the PBR circuit. At age six, Antonio started playing guitar, piano and drums and discovered a passion for country music.  He grew up listening to Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash and as he got older the love for country music didn’t change as he started listening to artists like Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Luke Brian.  But when his dad retired from bull-riding in 2008 as a three-time world champion, the family returned to their homeland in Brazil. Antonio never lost the dream of becoming a country artist and in 2018 he made the decision to come back to the USA and pursue his career in Nashville.

With 4 released singles produced in Brazil, Antonio has taken the next step in his career and is making his music here in Music City. His first Nashville produced single was released on August 8th. Co-written with Monty Powell (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw) and Eric Silver (Dixie Chicks, Diamond Rio), LET IT RIDE brings a real-life story with a modern, Nashville sound. Inspired by Antonio’s true-life experiences, the song relates his father’s encouragement to pursue his dream to be a singer. The song LET IT RIDE portrays his dreams, aspirations, fears and most important, it shows the relationship between his father and him. That is the reason, LET IT RIDE has a music video released.

Drawing from my experience where my dad is my hero, the song relates the courage to ride a bull and the courage I need to go after my singing career. Faced with this life story, I want to show it in a music video, because it is a story that will touch the lives of many people”, says Antonio.

Antonio’s father Adriano was no stranger to hard work and taking risks, as he holds multiple world titles under his belt.  That was the reason Antonio chose to release the music video during the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN, where Antonio sang the National Anthem on Championship Sunday, August 25th.

But his quest to share his music didn’t end there. Shortly after the release of his single, the international country artist released his first self-titled EP.  The EP celebrates the cowboy life he lives through his music and stories of his life. Antonio worked with Grammy Winner producer Ben Fowler along with 2X ACM piano player of the year Gordon Mote.  All 6 songs were written by Antonio and Nashville co-writers such as Grammy Winner Marcus Hummon and new writers he has met in town since he moved here.  The highlight of the EP is the song I’LL NEVER LEAVE recorded with Latin Grammy Winner, Paula Fernandes who has recorded hit songs with artists such as, Taylor Swift and Shania Twain.

“The initial plan was to release just the single Let It Ride, but I realized that I had more songs that talked about my life and who I’m… and an EP is the best way for people to get to know me thru my music. My romantic side, the cowboy and the rock star, they all come together in just on EP” says Antonio.

Honoring the genre’s traditions while moving the sound forward, his talent as a songwriter and his gift as a vocalist sets him up to be one to watch for.
